What is adaptive cruise control?

If you've browsed through the various technologies that General Motors offers, you've probably noticed the adaptive cruise control technology. Maybe you are wondering what it is exactly.

Adaptive cruise control is like any other cruise control, with the main difference being that it is able to detect vehicles in front of you and adapt to them. Thus, adaptive cruise control will automatically apply the brakes when a vehicle in front suddenly brakes in order to maintain a safe distance.

Some systems like the Cadillac Super Cruise can also follow the road for you, even through curves, and slow to a complete stop.

This is a technology that greatly improves comfort on the highway while improving safety.
